Zucchini with Béchamel Sauce
Ingredients
- Salt to taste
- Milk 15 fl oz
- Wheat Flour 2 tablespoons
- Safflower Oil 2 tablespoons
- Butter 0 oz
- Courgette 5 lbs
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Peel the zucchini and slice it into thin rounds. Place them in a pot, cover with water, and add a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil and then drain immediately. Transfer the slices to a baking dish.
Step 2
Make the Béchamel sauce: melt the butter in a saucepan along with the sunflower oil, stir in the flour, and cook, stirring for 2 minutes. Slowly pour in the milk while constantly stirring, and cook the sauce for another 10 minutes.
Step 3
Pour the sauce over the zucchini and sprinkle everything with grated cheese. Bake at 390°F for 10-15 minutes, until the cheese melts and turns golden. Serve immediately in the same dish.
