Whole Grain Porridge
Ingredients
- Wild rice ½ cup
- Ground Oats ½ cup
- Pearl barley ¼ cup
- Millet ½ cup
- Orange zest 1 tablespoon
- Cinnamon 1 piece
- Sugar 2 tablespoons
- Salt ¼ teaspoon
- Dried Turkey ¼ cup
- Nuts to taste
- Maple syrup to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
12 hours before serving, place the rice, wheat flakes, oat groats, and barley in a pressure cooker. Stir in the zest, cinnamon, sugar, salt, and add 5 cups of water. Add the dried fruits.
Step 2
Close the pressure cooker. Set the timer and program for porridge so that the dish is ready at the desired time. (If the pressure cooker does not have a porridge program, set the time to 50-55 minutes).
Step 3
Serve the porridge immediately with nuts, syrup, or milk (if desired).
