Vegetarian Serbian Rice Pilaf
Ingredients
- Rice 1 cup
- Water 3 cups
- Onion 1 head
- Carrot 1 piece
- Red Bell Pepper 1 piece
- Sweet Paprika 1 teaspoon
- Sea Salt to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Heat oil in a large skillet. Add chopped onion and sauté for 3 minutes.
Step 2
Add grated carrot and diced pepper.
Step 3
Add rice along with 3 cups of water. Stir until all ingredients are evenly distributed. Add paprika, salt, and pepper.
Step 4
Simmer at a low boil for 5 minutes over medium heat. Remove from heat and cover. Let it sit until all the water is absorbed by the rice (10-15 minutes).
Step 5
Garnish with fresh herbs. Serve.
