Vegetarian Pilaf with Chickpeas
Main Dishes • Indian
Description
You can skip the garlic... but when it comes to the onion, I can't say anything — it really doesn't irritate the stomach in this dish.
Ingredients
- Rice 1 glass
- Carrot ½ pieces
- Onion ½ heads
- Chickpea ½ glasses
- Black Cumin (Cumin) 1 tablespoon
- Vegetable Oil 5 fl oz
- Serviceberries 1 tablespoon
- Garlic 3 cloves
- Ocean salt to taste
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
- Water 2 glasses
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Chop the onion coarsely.
Step 2
Grate the carrot.
Step 3
Pre-cook the chickpeas until they are halfway tender.
Step 4
Pour oil generously into the wok (deep skillet) to cover the bottom.
Step 5
Layer the ingredients: first the onions, then the carrots, followed by the chickpeas.
Step 6
Sprinkle rice on top, then add the spices.
Step 7
Do not peel the garlic cloves; 'hide' one clove in several places throughout the pilaf. This will impart a subtle flavor and aroma.
Step 8
Pour in two or more cups of water and place on the stove. Alternatively, you can put it in the oven with bottom heat.
