Vegetable Stew with Rice
Ingredients
- Onion 1 head
- Carrot 1 piece
- Olive Oil 2 tablespoons
- Chopped celery stalk 0 fl oz
- Herbes de Provence 1 teaspoon
- Salt ½ teaspoon
- Brown Rice 15 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Heat a skillet over medium heat and add the oil. Sauté the onion, carrot, celery, herbes de Provence, and salt for 10 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.
Step 2
Add a little more oil if the skillet seems dry.
Step 3
Add the rice and sauté, stirring, for 5 minutes until all ingredients are heated through and well combined.
Step 4
The rice is ready to serve. If you are not serving it immediately, lower the heat, add a little oil, and let the rice steam for 7 to 10 minutes or until golden brown. If the rice starts to stick to the skillet, flip the browned pieces, add a little oil, and continue sautéing. The longer you spend at this stage, the tastier the rice will be.
Step 5
If you are using leftover stew, add it before serving and heat it well.
