Vegetable Cannelloni
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour 2 cups
- Water 1 cup
- Onion 2 pieces
- Lean Beef 20 oz
- Orange Bell Peppers 1 piece
- Carrot 1 piece
- Garlic 4 cloves
- Oregano 0.7 teaspoons
- Ground Black Pepper ½ teaspoon
- Dill ½ bunch
- Parsley ½ bunch
- Spiced Tomato Juice 2 cups
- Mayonnaise 3 tablespoons
- Sugar 1 tablespoon
- Salt to taste
- Celery stalk 5 pieces
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Mix the flour with a pinch of salt, pour in the water, and knead a stiff dough (like for noodles or dumplings). If the dough is sticky, add more flour. Roll the dough into a ball, wrap it in plastic, and let it rest for half an hour at room temperature (or refrigerate for a few hours or overnight).
Step 2
Dice the onion, celery, and bell pepper into small cubes. Grate the carrot on a coarse grater. Chop the dill and parsley.
Step 3
Mix the vegetables and herbs with the ground beef, adding salt and pepper.
Step 4
Roll out the dough into a sheet 3–5 mm thick. Cut into strips 10–15 cm long and 7–10 cm wide.
Step 5
Place 2–3 tablespoons of the prepared filling on each strip. Roll into a cylinder.
Step 6
Arrange the rolls loosely in a baking dish.
Step 7
Mix mayonnaise, tomato juice, salt, sugar, ground pepper, crushed garlic, and oregano.
Step 8
Pour the resulting sauce over the cannelloni.
Step 9
Bake in the oven for 30–40 minutes.
Step 10
The finished dish can be sprinkled with grated cheese.
