  • Turnips 6 pieces
  • Butter 0 oz
  • Safflower Oil 2 tablespoons
  • Wheat Flour 3 tablespoons
  • Milk 25 fl oz
  • Bouillon cube ½ piece
  • Gruyère cheese 5 oz
  • Salt to taste

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Wash and peel the turnip, then slice it. Bring salted water to a boil in a large pot, add the turnip, and cook for 10 minutes. Then drain the water.

Step 2

Melt the butter with the sunflower oil in a pot, stir in the flour and cook for 2 minutes, then slowly pour in the milk while stirring constantly, and cook for another 5 minutes. Add salt, crumble the bouillon cube, and mix well.

Step 3

Place the turnip slices in a baking dish, pour the sauce over them, and sprinkle with grated cheese. Bake for 10-15 minutes at 390°F until a golden crust forms. Serve immediately.
