Turkish Vegetable Casserole
Ingredients
- White Cabbage 20 oz
- Carrot 1 piece
- Onion 1 head
- Potato 3 pieces
- Orange Bell Peppers 1 piece
- Semi-soft cream cheese 5 oz
- Chicken Egg 3 pieces
- Milk 5 fl oz
- Sour Cream 5 oz
- Wheat Flour 5 oz
- Ground Dried Garlic ½ teaspoon
- Paprika 1 teaspoon
- Butter 1 teaspoon
- Breadcrumbs 2 tablespoons
- Vegetable Oil 0 fl oz
- Salt to taste
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
- Herbs to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Prepare all the ingredients.
Step 2
Peel the potatoes and cut them into large cubes.

Finely shred the cabbage.
Step 4
Dice the onion.
Step 5
Grate the carrot using a coarse grater.
Step 6
Remove seeds and membranes from the bell pepper, cut it into strips, then into cubes.

Heat oil in a pan and fry the potatoes until golden brown, then transfer to a large bowl.

In the same pan, sauté the onion until translucent. Add the carrot and cook for 3-4 minutes until the carrot is soft.

Add the cabbage and sauté everything together for about 10 minutes until the cabbage wilts and is partially cooked.

Transfer the vegetables to the bowl with the potatoes and add the bell pepper.

Season the vegetables with salt, add spices, and mix well.

Beat the three eggs with salt and pepper using a whisk. Add the sour cream and mix.

Gradually add the flour, stirring to avoid lumps.

Dilute the mixture with milk.

Chop the herbs and add them to the vegetables.

Pour the mixture over the vegetables and mix well.

Grease a baking dish with butter.

Sprinkle the dish with breadcrumbs.

Pour the vegetable mixture into the dish, smooth it out, and place it in an oven preheated to 355°F for 30-40 minutes.

Grate the cheese on a fine grater.

Remove the casserole, sprinkle with cheese, and return it to the oven.

After 10 minutes, take out the finished casserole and cut it into portions. The casserole is delicious both hot and cold.
