Turkey Baked with Celery
Ingredients
- Turkey 10 lbs
- Olive Oil 5 fl oz
- Chicken Broth ½ liter
- Onion 1 head
- Celery salt 10 oz
- Salt to taste
- Carrot 5 oz
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Rinse the turkey well under cold running water, dry it, and trim excess fat. Tuck the wings into the body (for example, by making cuts in the skin). Generously coat it with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
Step 2
Place the turkey on a baking sheet and put it in an oven preheated to 300 degrees Fahrenheit. Cook for 20 minutes, constantly basting with chicken broth, until a golden-brown crust forms. Then reduce the temperature to 250 degrees Fahrenheit and cook for 3.5 hours, basting the turkey with its juices every 15 minutes.
Step 3
For the broth: chop the onion. Add finely chopped celery and a chicken bouillon cube. Cook for 10-15 minutes without straining.
