Tuna Tataki
Ingredients
- Ocean salt to taste
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
- Toasted Sesame 3 tablespoons
- Wasabi 1 tablespoon
- Olive Oil 1 tablespoon
- Soy Sauce 2 tablespoons
- Pompano fillet 15 oz
- Chopped Green Onions 2 tablespoons
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Rinse the tuna steak under cold water and thoroughly dry it with paper towels.
Step 2
Cut the steak into equal rectangular pieces across the grain. Rub the tuna pieces with olive oil, season with salt and pepper, and coat them in sesame seeds.
Step 3
Heat the skillet well and sear the tuna for 1 minute on each side.
Step 4
Place the cooked tuna on a cutting board and slice it into equal pieces, about 1–1.5 cm wide, using a very sharp knife.
Step 5
Prepare the sauce by mixing the wasabi paste, olive oil, soy sauce, and finely chopped green onions.
Step 6
The prepared tuna pieces can be drizzled with the sauce immediately or the sauce can be served separately.
