Description

Texas Hash with Cheddar

Ingredients

  • Mild Chili Spice 1 teaspoon
  • Scallions 1 bunch
  • Long-Grain Rice ½ cup
  • Cheshire Cheese 5 oz
  • Lean Beef 15 oz
  • Onion 3 pieces
  • Salt to taste
  • Vegetable Oil 3 tablespoons
  • Baking Tomatoes 15 oz
  • Ground Black Pepper to taste
  • Orange Bell Peppers 1 piece

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Rinse the rice and drain it in a colander. Set aside. Peel the onions, slice them into thin half-rings, and sauté in heated oil for 8 minutes. Add the ground beef and cook until the meat changes color.

Step 2

Wash the pepper and cut it into small cubes, removing the seeds. Add the pepper, tomatoes, and rice to the beef mixture. Season with salt and chili powder, and mix thoroughly.

Step 3

Transfer the mixture to a lightly greased baking dish, cover with aluminum foil, and place in a preheated oven at 355°F for 45 minutes. Remove the foil and continue cooking for another 15 minutes. Wash the green onions and slice them into thin rings, grate the cheese. Serve the hash on a plate, sprinkle with onions and cheese, and serve immediately.
