Sweet and Sour Soy Goulash with Curry
Main Dishes • Pan-Asian
Description
It is best to cook in a wok or simply a deep skillet. You can make it more liquid for dressing rice, for example. Or serve it separately with toasted seed bread.
Ingredients
- Soy Goulash 5 oz
- Lemon ½ piece
- White Onion 1 piece
- Bell pepper 1 piece
- Diced Tomatoes 15 oz
- Salt to taste
- Five Pepper Blend to taste
- Curry Powder 1½ teaspoons
- Olive Oil 3 tablespoons
- Garlic 1 clove
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Place the soy goulash in a pot with cold water, bring to a boil, and cook for 6–8 minutes until ready. Let cool and squeeze out the excess water.
Step 2
Slice the white onion into quarter rings or cubes.
Step 3
Cut the medium-sized red bell pepper into strips.
Step 4
Heat the skillet and oil. Sauté the pepper for 5–10 minutes, stirring, then add the onion and garlic (crush the garlic with the flat side of a knife to release its juice), and sauté for another 5 minutes while stirring.
Step 5
Add the soy pieces to the skillet, season with salt, pepper blend, and curry. Stir the mixture for 5 minutes.
Step 6
Add the peeled diced tomatoes (400 grams) and the juice of half a lemon; optionally, you can add water. Cover and let simmer for 10 minutes.
Step 7
Optionally, you can add low-fat sour cream, mix, cover again, and let simmer for another 7 minutes (you can add herbs at the end if desired).
