Sweet and Sour Roast
Main Dishes • Romanian
Description
Instead of beef, you can use lamb, which is also kosher.
Ingredients
- Potato 0 lbs
- Beef 0 lbs
- Pitted Wild Apricots 5 oz
- Onion 5 heads
- Carrot 2 pieces
- Salt to taste
- Vegetable Oil 1 tablespoon
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Cut the meat, which should have a bit of fat, into medium-sized pieces and sauté them in a steel pot until they are nearly cooked through.
Step 2
When it releases its juices, add finely chopped onion, cover with a lid, and let it simmer.
Step 3
After about ten minutes, add sliced carrots to the pot. Sliced into rounds—like coins—to bring prosperity into the home.
Step 4
After another ten minutes, add the prunes and diced potatoes to the pot. Stir and simmer on low heat until the potatoes are cooked, stirring regularly. Add a little pepper, but be cautious with the salt, as kosher meat is already salted.
Step 5
Serve hot. However, the stew tastes best the next day.
