
Steamed Fish Patties with Barley

Description
The resulting patties can be frozen and used as needed. Just increase the cooking time in the steamer to 25–30 minutes.
Ingredients
- Sole fillets 20 oz
- Pearl barley 0.7 cups
- Onion 1 piece
- Salt to taste
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Cook the barley groats until they are sticky and well-cooked — about 40 minutes.
Step 2
Pass the cod fillet (tilapia, or any other dry and non-fatty fish), barley groats, and onion through a meat grinder twice.
Step 3
Season the resulting minced mixture with salt and pepper to taste. Form into patties. Cook in the steamer for 20 minutes.
