Description

Squid with Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients

  • Squid 20 oz
  • Salad Potatoes 20 oz
  • Spices to taste
  • Safflower Oil to taste
  • Lemon 1 piece

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Clean the squid from the thin membrane.

Step 2

Place the squid in salted water. Boil for just 2–3 minutes. If overcooked, the squid will not be tender enough.

Step 3

Peel the potatoes. Set them to boil.

Step 4

Once the squid is cooked, remove it and let it cool. Cut into strips.

Step 5

In a heated pan, add anise and lightly fry. Then add the squid. Sprinkle with spices and mix thoroughly.

Step 6

Squeeze the juice from half a lemon. Finally, add a little soy sauce (be careful not to overdo it, as it can make the dish too salty). Mix thoroughly and fry until ready.

Step 7

Make mashed potatoes from the boiled potatoes as usual. On a plate, place the mashed potatoes, squid, 3 lemon wedges (which can be used to drizzle over the squid), and a little greenery.
