
Spicy Beef Stew

Description
Chicken broth can be replaced with meat broth, or if there are no options, then with water.
Ingredients
- Beef 30 oz
- Onion 1 piece
- Garlic 1 clove
- Chicken Broth 15 fl oz
- Canned Jalapeño Peppers 5 oz
- Crushed Tomatoes in Their Own Juice 15 oz
- Wheat Flour 1 tablespoon
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Cut the meat into small pieces.
Step 2
Finely chop the onion and garlic.
Step 3
Finely chop the peppers as well.
Step 4
In a saucepan, heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil.
Step 5
In 3 batches, fry the meat until golden brown on all sides, about 5 minutes per batch.
Step 6
Transfer the meat to a heatproof dish.
Step 7
Add the onion and garlic to the saucepan, sautéing while stirring for 3–4 minutes.
Step 8
Add the flour and sauté, stirring for another minute.
Step 9
Pour in the broth and stir to dissolve any lumps.
Step 10
Transfer the contents of the saucepan to the meat, add the crushed tomatoes along with their juice, and add the chopped peppers. Season with salt to taste.

Cover the dish with foil and place it in a preheated oven at 355°F.
Step 12
Let it simmer for 1.5–2 hours.
Step 13
Then check the meat for tenderness and either remove it from the oven or continue cooking until fully tender.
Step 14
Allow the finished stew to rest at room temperature under a lid for about half an hour before serving.
