Description
It's best to prepare this roast beef early in the morning so that it's ready by dinner time. There’s not much work involved, but it will take a long time to bake.
Ingredients
- Beef Tri-Tip 5 lbs
- Thyme 5 stalks
- Salt to taste
- Vegetable Oil 0 fl oz
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Season the piece of beef with salt. Heat a large skillet until the oil starts to shimmer. Add a few sprigs of thyme and sear the meat on all sides.
Step 2
Once it develops a brown crust and is infused with the spicy aroma, transfer the beef to a baking sheet and place it in a preheated oven at 140°F (140 degrees Fahrenheit) for about six hours. During this time, the internal temperature of the meat should reach 140°F.
Step 3
Remove the cooked roast beef from the oven, wrap it in foil, and let it rest for 30 minutes to 1 hour. Then slice the beef thinly and serve it with pickled cabbage, pickles, tomatoes, and peppers.
