Shrimp Creole is very delicious when served with rice!

Ingredients

  • Peeled Cooked Shrimp 12 pieces
  • Butter 4 tablespoons
  • Onion 1 head
  • Mild Chili Spice 1 piece
  • Orange Bell Peppers ½ piece
  • Bay leaf 2 pieces
  • Celery salt 1 stalk
  • Paprika 1 teaspoon
  • Spiced Tomato Juice 5 fl oz
  • Canned Tomatoes (Pelati) ½ can
  • Worcestershire Sauce 3 tablespoons
  • Sweet Chili Sauce 3 teaspoons
  • Minced garlic 1 clove
  • Corn Starch 1½ teaspoons
  • Water 5 fl oz

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Melt two tablespoons of butter in a heavy-bottomed skillet.

Step 2

Sauté the finely chopped vegetables: garlic, onion, bell pepper, chili pepper, and celery in the butter.

Step 3

Add the bay leaves to the vegetables for 2–3 minutes, then remove the leaves.

Step 4

After 4 minutes, add paprika, diced tomatoes, and tomato juice for color, mixing thoroughly.

Step 5

Add Worcestershire sauce and tomato sauce (the tomato sauce can be omitted if necessary).

Step 6

Simmer until all the liquid has evaporated.

Step 7

Mix water and cornstarch, then pour into the vegetables, stirring.

Step 8

Cook for about two minutes until the cornstarch is ready and the sauce has a characteristic thick consistency.

Step 9

Sauté the shrimp in the remaining butter.

Step 10

Pour the sauce over the shrimp and mix thoroughly.
