Description

Shawarma is a popular Middle Eastern dish consisting of marinated meat that is cooked on a vertical rotisserie. It is typically served in a wrap or pita bread, accompanied by fresh vegetables, sauces, and pickles. Enjoy it at your favorite local diner or food truck!

Ingredients

  • Armenian Lavash 1 piece
  • Iceberg Lettuce 3 pieces
  • Chicken fillet 1 piece
  • Tomatoes 2 pieces
  • Pickled Cauliflower 1 piece
  • Ketchup 0 oz
  • Mayonnaise 0 oz
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground Black Pepper to taste
  • Olive Oil to taste

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Unroll the lavash and cut it in half.

Step 2

In the center, about 2–3 centimeters from the bottom, pour ketchup and mayonnaise (if you prefer a lower-calorie shawarma, skip the mayonnaise), leaving the edges of the lavash clean for 2–3 cm.

Step 3

Place the salad, chicken, tomatoes, and cucumbers (the order doesn't matter).

Step 4

Carefully roll up the lavash, enclosing the filling, then fold in the edges and finish rolling the lavash from the center.

Step 5

You can toast the shawarma in the same skillet where you cooked the chicken.

Step 6

Sauté the chicken fillet in olive oil, seasoning it with salt and pepper beforehand.

Step 7

Cut all the ingredients into small strips. You will need 3 leaves of iceberg lettuce.
