Ingredients

  • Beef chuck roast 30 oz
  • Onion 1 head
  • Ground coriander 1 tablespoon
  • Nutmeg ¼ teaspoon
  • Ginger 2 teaspoons
  • Thyme ¼ teaspoon
  • Parsnip 10 oz
  • Carrot 15 oz
  • Rutabaga ½ piece
  • Potato 15 oz
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground Black Pepper to taste
  • Water 25 fl oz

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Cut the meat into 5 cm cubes and brown in a pot on all sides, then transfer to a plate. Reduce the heat. In the remaining fat, sauté the chopped onion, add coriander, ginger, and nutmeg.

Step 2

Return the beef to the pot, season, add thyme, pour in the water, and bring to a boil. Lower the heat and simmer until the meat is tender.

Step 3

Dice the vegetables and add them to the pot. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat, and simmer for half an hour. Skim off the fat that forms.
