Scallop Shells Baked with Garlic
Main Dishes • European
Description
I recommend cutting off the scallop 'feet' from the shells right away — it's easier to rinse off excess debris, and it's more convenient to eat. This dish is delicious even when cold.
Ingredients
- Scallops 0 lbs
- Garlic 1 head
- Hard Cheese 10 oz
- Butter to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 390°F. Line a baking tray with foil or parchment paper. Rinse the scallop shells along with their contents to remove sand. Arrange them on the lined baking tray.
Step 2
In each shell, squeeze garlic onto the 'foot' and place a small amount of butter on the tip of a knife. Generously sprinkle grated cheese on top, filling the shell as much as possible. Place in the preheated oven. Bake until the cheese melts — usually about 15 minutes.
Step 3
Remove from the oven and serve! Enjoy directly from the shells.
