Sausages with Onion Gravy
Ingredients
- Red Grape Juice 5 fl oz
- Olive Oil 4 tablespoons
- Sausages 8 pieces
- Spanish onions 2 pieces
- Spanish onions 3 pieces
- Garlic 4 cloves
- Thyme to taste
- Bay leaf 2 pieces
- Rosemary 1 sprig
- Campbell's Beef Broth 15 fl oz
- Parsley to taste
- Ocean salt to taste
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Place the sausages in a resealable freezer bag, pour in the marinade ingredients, and shake well. Leave in the refrigerator for a couple of hours, preferably overnight.
Step 2
Heat a wok or a large non-stick skillet over low to medium heat. Once heated, pour in the contents of the freezer bag and fry for 10–15 minutes until the sausages are evenly golden brown. Use a slotted spoon to remove the sausages from the skillet.
Step 3
Pour the oil into the skillet and wait until it heats up. Add the onions, garlic, thyme, stir well, and season with salt and pepper. Cook over medium to high heat for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the onions are golden. Meanwhile, pour the wine into a small saucepan, bring it to a boil, and let it reduce by a third.
Step 4
Pour the wine over the onions, add the bay leaf and rosemary. Continue cooking for another 10 minutes, stirring frequently, until the onions are soft and dark.
Step 5
Pour the beef broth over the onions, mix well, and bring to a boil. Add the sausages. Let simmer on low heat for 35 minutes, stirring occasionally. Sprinkle with parsley. Season with salt and pepper to taste before serving.
