Sausages with Lentils
Ingredients
- Olive Oil 3 tablespoons
- Sausages 8 pieces
- Onion 1 head
- Garlic 3 cloves
- Fresh Rose Hips 2 tablespoons
- Juniper Berries 16 pieces
- Baking Tomatoes 30 oz
- Nutmeg 1 teaspoon
- Bay leaf 1 piece
- Mild Chili Spice 1 piece
- Red Grape Juice 5 fl oz
- Lentils 5 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet and fry the sausages for 5-10 minutes until golden brown. Transfer to a plate.
Step 2
Reduce the heat and add the finely chopped onion and garlic, cooking until the onion is soft. Add the chopped rosemary, tomatoes, and cook until the sauce thickens.
Step 3
Add the juniper berries, nutmeg, bay leaf, chili, red wine, and 400 ml of water. Bring to a boil, then add the lentils and sausages. Mix well, cover, and simmer for 40 minutes until the lentils are tender. Remove the bay leaf and chili before serving.
