As a garnish for the tongue, instead of green peas, you can serve pasta, stewed cabbage, potato, or pea puree.
Ingredients
- Beef tongue 1 piece
- Root Vegetables to taste
- Onion 1 head
- Butter 2 tablespoons
- Green Peas 4 tablespoons

Step 1
Thoroughly rinse the tongue, place it in a pot, cover with cold water, add root vegetables, onion, and simmer for 3 to 3 1/4 hours over low heat. Remove the cooked tongue, rinse with cold water, and immediately peel off the skin.
Step 2
Slice the peeled tongue into thin pieces, arrange on a plate, and drizzle with 2-3 tablespoons of broth and melted butter. Serve with green peas dressed in butter as a garnish.
