Salmon Steak with Soy-Cream Sauce and Cheese
Main Dishes • Norwegian
Description
Any side dish will do — I used instant rice.
Ingredients
- Salmon 4 pieces
- Cream 22% 5 fl oz
- Cheese Spread 5 oz
- Lemon 1 piece
- Soy Sauce 0 fl oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Rinse the steaks, then lightly pound them and place them on a baking sheet, seasoning with pepper on both sides.
Step 2
Cut off the ends of the lemon and squeeze the juice over the steaks, then slice the remaining part of the lemon into thin wedges and place them on the salmon. Let it sit for about 10 minutes while the oven preheats. It's best to set the temperature no higher than 300°F, as fish can easily dry out, but this depends on your oven!
Step 3
Send the salmon to the oven for about 25 minutes and start preparing the sauce and cheese. Pour the cream and soy sauce into a container and add spices to taste (I only added pepper), mixing well. I recommend adding regular soy sauce to taste, as everyone has different preferences. Grate the cheese.
Step 4
When the fish turns pink, remove the baking sheet from the oven, take the lemon off the fish (I just scatter them around the fish), pour the resulting sauce over the steaks, and sprinkle with cheese. Return it to the oven for another 15–25 minutes (again, this is individual and depends on your oven).
Step 5
When the steaks are covered with a cheesy crust and slightly browned, you can confidently take them out.
