Description
How to make Sailor's Pasta. This classic Soviet dish appeared around the time of the war and was first documented in a cookbook in 1955. Although Russian cuisine has now embraced dishes like Bolognese and Carbonara, Sailor's Pasta remains one of the main pasta dishes in Russia. It’s a simple, quick, and delicious recipe. For our video recipe, we specifically used macaroni, but any pasta will work.
Ingredients
- Pasta (corkscrew) 10 oz
- Ground meat 10 oz
- Ghee 0 oz
- Vegetable Oil 0 fl oz
- Onion 5 oz
- Salt to taste
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Prepare all the ingredients.
Step 2
Dice the onion into small cubes.
Step 3
In a large skillet, heat a mixture of vegetable oil and clarified butter.
Step 4
Sauté the minced meat for 10 minutes.
Step 5
Sauté the onion in vegetable oil separately.
Step 6
Add the sautéed onions to the ground meat.
Step 7
Stir
Step 8
Cook the pasta in boiling salted water according to the package instructions.
Step 9
Drain the water from the cooked pasta. Add it to the ground meat and mix well.
Step 10
Serve immediately.
