Rice with Turkey, Ginger, and Cardamom
Ingredients
- Chicken fillet 20 oz
- Long-Grain Rice 10 oz
- Onion 1 head
- Carrot 1 piece
- Garlic 1 head
- Cardamom 6 pieces
- Grated Ginger Root 3 tablespoons
- Salt 1 teaspoon
- Sugar ½ teaspoon
- Vegetable Oil ½ cup
- Sesame Oil 1 teaspoon
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Heat a skillet or another container, pour in vegetable oil, enough that it doesn't make you feel uneasy.
Step 2
Chop the onion and grate the carrot and ginger on a coarse grater, peel the garlic.
Step 3
Add ginger and garlic to the skillet for half a minute to release their aroma. Then add the onion and carrot and sauté until the onion is golden. Meanwhile, cut the meat into small pieces.
Step 4
Add the meat, cardamom pods, salt to taste, and mix everything together, sautéing for a few minutes.
Step 5
Evenly sprinkle the rice on top (do not mix).
Step 6
Pour in hot water so that the water level is about 1 cm above the rice level. Wait for it to boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 15–20 minutes.
Step 7
Check the rice for doneness; if it's too firm, add a little more water. If the rice is ready and there's still water at the bottom, increase the heat and evaporate the water.
Step 8
When the rice is ready, mix the contents.
