Rice with Sherry

Ingredients

  • Olive Oil 5 tablespoons
  • Onion 5 oz
  • Port Wine 5 fl oz
  • Long-Grain Rice 20 oz
  • Butter 0 oz
  • Chicken Broth 0 qt
  • Salt to taste

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Finely chop the onion and heat the broth. Preheat the oven to 390°F.

Step 2

Heat the olive oil in a large ovenproof pot with thick walls and bottom, add the onion and cook, stirring, for 6-8 minutes. Stir in the sherry and rice, then pour in the boiling broth and add salt.

Step 3

Cover the pot and place it in the oven. Bake for about 20 minutes, until the rice is tender. Before serving, place a piece of butter on top. Serve immediately once it melts, in the same pot.
