Description

Rice with nutmeg, cinnamon, and garlic chips

Ingredients

  • Long-Grain Rice 10 oz
  • Garlic 7 cloves
  • Nutmeg 2 spoons
  • Cinnamon 1 tablespoon
  • Meyer Lemon Juice 3 spoons
  • Olive Oil 2 spoons
  • Ground Black Pepper to taste
  • Salt to taste

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Cook the rice until fully and completely done — this will take about forty minutes.

Step 2

Half an hour after the pot of rice is on the stove, sauté five cloves of garlic in a saucepan or a deep skillet with olive oil until golden brown. Season with salt and pepper to taste, add nutmeg and cinnamon, and mix well.

Step 3

Add the cooked rice to the saucepan with the garlic and spices, and continue to sauté over heat, stirring for another couple of minutes until the rice is evenly colored. After that, you can remove it from the heat.

Step 4

Juice about half a lemon. Slice the remaining two cloves of garlic into thin petals and sauté them until golden brown. Before serving, drizzle the rice with lemon juice and top it with the crispy garlic chips.
