Ingredients
- Potatoes 0 lbs
- Sea Salt a pinch
- Butter 0 oz
- Milk 5 fl oz
- Nutmeg a pinch
- Onion 2 pieces
- Sauerkraut 20 oz
- Apple juice 5 fl oz
- Vegetable Oil 2 tablespoons
- Ground Paprika ½ tablespoon
- Bay leaves 2 pieces
- Breadcrumbs 5 oz
- Apple 2 pieces
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Boil and mash the potatoes, add milk and butter, and season with salt and nutmeg.
Step 2
Dice 1 onion and sauté it. Add apple juice, chopped apples, and bay leaves, and simmer for about 10 minutes. Add the sauerkraut and continue to simmer for another 5 minutes.
Step 3
Spread the sauerkraut mixture in a baking dish, top with the mashed potatoes, and place in a preheated oven at 355°F for about 20 minutes.
Step 4
Finely chop 2 onions and sauté them in oil. Crumble the bread and sauté it in vegetable oil with sweet (preferably smoked) paprika. Sprinkle the finished casserole with the breadcrumb-onion mixture.
