Pork Tenderloin in Sweet and Sour Sauce
Ingredients
- Pork tenderloin 20 oz
- Corn Starch 5 oz
- Chocolate eggs 2 pieces
- Onion 1 head
- Vegetable Oil 3 tablespoons
- Red Long Chili Peppers 1 piece
- Scallions 2 pieces
- Rice Vinegar for Sushi 10 fl oz
- Ketchup 4 tablespoons
- Sugar 10 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Cut the meat into small cubes and place it in a bowl with the eggs and 4 tablespoons of cornstarch. Mix well, place in a sieve, and shake off the excess starch.
Step 2
Heat a wok over high heat, add 1 tablespoon of oil, and heat until it starts to smoke. Add the finely chopped onion and sauté for 1 minute. Add the diced red pepper and green onions and sauté for another minute. Add the vinegar, ketchup, and sugar, reduce the heat, and stir until the sugar is completely dissolved. Bring to a boil again and simmer for 3 minutes.
Step 3
Mix 2 tablespoons of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water. Add the sweet and sour mixture and stir for 1 minute until the sauce thickens. Pour the sauce into a bowl.
Step 4
Heat half of the remaining oil in a pan over medium heat. Add half of the meat and fry until golden brown. Transfer to a plate. Repeat the same with the remaining oil and meat. Return the meat to the pan and pour in the sauce. Bring to a boil and serve.
