Pork Steaks with Onions in a Skillet
Main Dishes • European
Description
The simplest and quickest way to prepare meat is by making steaks. They are usually made from beef, but I had a little over half a kilo of pork tenderloin in the fridge, so I decided to make steaks from it. Pork steaks can be served with simple sides; in my case, it's rice and canned green peas.
Ingredients
- Onion 1 piece
- Pork tenderloin 20 oz
- Mustard Greens 0 oz
- Vegetable Oil 2 tablespoons
- Ground Black Pepper 0 oz
- Red Long Chili Peppers 0 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Wash the pork tenderloin in cool water, pat it dry, and cut it into pieces about 1.5 centimeters thick. Tenderize, season with salt and pepper (black + red) according to your spice preference.
Step 2
Place the meat in a bowl, add mustard, and mix everything well. Let the meat marinate at room temperature for about 40 minutes to 1 hour.
Step 3
Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet and place the pork pieces in it. Sear for 3–4 minutes on each side over high heat until a golden crust forms. I recommend partially covering the skillet with a lid if you don't want to splatter oil everywhere.
Step 4
Once the meat is browned, add the sliced onion, reduce the heat to medium, and cover with a lid. Sauté lightly for about 5 minutes.
