Pork Ribs in Sweet Sauce

Ingredients

  • Paprika 4 tablespoons
  • Celery salt 3 tablespoons
  • English Dry Mustard 3 tablespoons
  • Mild Chili Spice 2 tablespoons
  • Pork Skewers 5 lbs
  • Baking Tomatoes 1 can
  • Sugar 2 cups
  • Honey 10 oz
  • Apple Cider Vinegar 1 cup
  • Light Molasses 1 cup
  • Meyer Lemon Juice 3 tablespoons
  • Brown Sugar 2 tablespoons
  • Worcestershire Sauce 2 tablespoons
  • Soy Sauce 2 teaspoons
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground Dried Garlic 1 teaspoon
  • Dried onion powder 1 teaspoon
  • TABASCO® 1 teaspoon
  • Ground Black Pepper to taste
  • Ground clove to taste

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Prepare the seasoning. In a small bowl, mix together paprika, 1/3 cup of onion powder, 1/4 cup of ground black pepper, celery seeds, mustard, 3 tablespoons of salt, and chili pepper. Rub the ribs with the mixture and let them sit at room temperature for 1 hour.

Step 2

Prepare the sauce meanwhile. Blend the tomatoes using a blender and pour the resulting puree into a saucepan. Add sugar, honey, vinegar, molasses, lemon juice, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, salt, garlic powder, TABASCO sauce, remaining pepper, and cloves. Place over medium heat and cook, stirring, until thickened.

Step 3

Preheat the grill. Place the ribs meat side up. Cook for 2-4 hours, turning once. During the last 45 minutes, brush the ribs with the sauce. Serve the finished ribs with the remaining sauce. Enjoy your meal!
