Poached Trout with Onions and Dill Seeds
Ingredients
- Thyme 5 sprigs
- Bay leaf 2 pieces
- Spanish onions 1 head

- Trout 5 lbs
- Salt to taste
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
- Dry White Wine 15 fl oz
- Olive Oil 2 tablespoons
- Dill 1 tablespoon
- Chopped Sage Leaves 0 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 355°F. Slice the onion and carrot into half-rings. Place the thyme sprigs, bay leaves, onion, and carrot in a baking dish.
Step 2
Season the trout with salt and pepper. Place it on top of the onions.
Step 3
In a pot, bring the white wine, olive oil, and dill seeds to a boil.
Step 4
Pour this sauce over the trout and vegetables.
Step 5
Chop the parsley and sprinkle it over the fish and vegetables.
Step 6
Bake for about 40 minutes, until the vegetables are soft.
