Pilaf with Mushrooms

Description
It is advisable to spread the rice on a paper towel to dry before adding it to the vegetables.
Ingredients
- Vegetable Oil 5 fl oz
- Onion 3 heads
- Carrot 2 pieces
- Long-Grain Parboiled Rice 10 oz
- Fresh Mushrooms 15 oz
- Salt 1½ teaspoons
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
- Spices to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Rinse the rice, cover it with warm water, and let it soak while preparing the onion and carrot.
Step 2
Finely chop the onion and sauté until soft. Then add the carrot, grated on a medium grater.
Step 3
Slice the mushrooms thinly.
Step 4
When the carrot becomes soft, add the mushrooms. Fry until the moisture evaporates.
Step 5
At this time, drain the water from the rice, then add it to the vegetables and mushrooms, frying for 1.5 minutes, then add 1.5 liters of boiling water. Cover tightly with a lid and simmer on low heat for 12 minutes, then add spices and simmer for another 15 minutes.
