Pilaf with Meat and Raisins
Ingredients
- Rice 20 oz
- Onion 3 pieces
- Safflower Oil 5 fl oz
- Meat 20 oz
- Carrot 20 oz
- Water 25 fl oz
- Raisins to taste
- Ground Cumin to taste
- Salt to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
In a preheated pot, pour in the oil, sauté the onion, then sauté the meat, and then the carrot.
Step 2
Add a little water, spices, and simmer for about an hour.
Step 3
Evenly place the rice on top, add more water if needed—it should be about a finger's width above the rice. Cook with the lid off for about 10 minutes. Then make holes in the rice and simmer on low heat for about half an hour, checking every 15 minutes.
Step 4
Soak the raisins in warm water for 30 minutes, then add them to the pilaf at the end of cooking.
