Pilaf with Chicken, Brown Rice, and Barberry

Description
I love to cook pilaf not in a frying pan, but in a cauldron!
Ingredients
- Skin-On Chicken Breasts 1 piece
- Onion 2 pieces
- Carrot 1 piece
- Toasted Cumin Seeds to taste
- Serviceberries to taste
- Salt to taste
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
- Garlic 1 clove
- Boiled White Round Rice 2 cups
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Finely chop the onion and sauté in sunflower oil until golden brown.
Step 2
Grate the carrot and add it to the onion.
Step 3
Finely chop the chicken breast and add it to the cauldron, simmer for about 10 minutes.
Step 4
Rinse the rice and add it to the cauldron, mix everything well and pour in water so that it covers everything by 1 cm, lower the heat and simmer until the rice is cooked.
Step 5
Place one whole clove of garlic in the cauldron and add spices to taste (ready-made pilaf seasonings are available in stores, but I prefer to add a generous pinch of cumin and more barberry).
Step 6
Simmer for another 10 minutes.
Step 7
When the pilaf is ready, remove the clove of garlic; it is needed only during cooking and for presentation!!!
