Pilaf with Cherry Tomatoes
Ingredients
- Long-Grain Rice 30 oz
- Meat 20 oz
- Onion 15 oz
- Garlic 1 head
- Carrot 10 oz
- Vegetable Oil 5 fl oz
- Marinated cherries to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Peel the onion and slice it into half-rings. Julienne the carrot into strips, preferably long ones.
Step 2
Sauté the onion. When the onion is slightly browned, add the carrot. Stir with a slotted spoon. Then add the diced meat. Sauté everything.
Step 3
Rinse the rice until it runs clear. Some rice needs to be soaked. While the meat is cooking, you can soak it for a few minutes. When the meat is almost ready, add the rice. Clean the garlic by removing dirt and roots, and the outer layer, but keep it whole.
Step 4
Insert the garlic into the rice. Cut the cherry tomatoes in half and add them to the rice. Pour in water and do not stir anymore. The water should just cover the rice. When the water evaporates, you can slightly mound the pilaf and cover it with a lid. Reduce the heat and cook until done.
