
Pilaf with Celery

You can add parsley, almonds, or raisins to the pilaf.
Ingredients
- Long-Grain Rice 2 cups
- Olive Oil 2 teaspoons
- Chopped Green Onions ½ cup
- Celery stalk ½ cup
- Chicken Broth 4 cups
- Herbed Cream Cheese 2 teaspoons
- Ground Black Pepper ¼ teaspoon
- Cayenne Pepper 0.1 teaspoons
Step-by-Step Guide

Heat the broth over medium heat.
Step 2
Meanwhile, in a deep skillet, heat the olive oil and add the rice. Sauté, stirring, for about a minute. Then add the celery and onions, mix, and sauté for a little longer until the vegetables are soft.
Step 3
Add salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper to the broth.
Step 4
Carefully transfer the rice to the hot broth and cook, covered, until done. Remove from heat and let sit, covered, for 10 minutes. Fluff and serve.
