Pasta Casserole with Sausages
Main Dishes • Italian
Description
Tip: You can drizzle the casserole with mayonnaise mixed with ketchup on top — it will become juicier and more appetizing. This pasta casserole pairs well with a salad of fresh cucumbers and tomatoes with onions. Serve this dish on the table, garnished with fresh herbs.
Ingredients
- Onion 2 pieces
- Tomato Puree 1 tablespoon
- Sausages 2 pieces
- Cheese Spread 10 oz
- Butter 0 oz
- Pasta (corkscrew) 5 oz
- Salt to taste
- Red Long Chili Peppers to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Boil the pasta. You can do this in advance.
Step 2
Then prepare the sauce. Sauté the finely chopped onion in butter. When it is lightly browned, add 1 tablespoon of tomato puree diluted in 3 tablespoons of boiled water. Separately, boil 2 sausages, chop them finely, and simmer with the sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Step 3
Grate the hard cheese, such as Swiss or Dutch cheese, on a coarse grater.
Step 4
Grease a baking dish with butter (to prevent the casserole from burning, you can also sprinkle the dish with breadcrumbs for extra safety) and layer the pasta, the sauce with sausages, and a lot of grated cheese, alternating until all ingredients are used up. Top the casserole with cheese.
Step 5
Preheat the oven to 355°F and bake the pasta for about 15 minutes.
