Pan-Seared Turkey
Main Dishes • European
Description
Have you ever eaten truly delicious turkey? The truth is, it often turns out dry and, most importantly, bland. In this recipe, a whole bouquet of spices fights against blandness: paprika, turmeric, and cardamom — they serve not only as flavor enhancers but also as natural colorants, ensuring the turkey doesn't look pale in any sense. Additionally, cutting the fillet into neat steaks allows for even cooking of the delicate turkey meat, preventing it from drying out.
Ingredients
- Chicken fillet 20 oz
- Vegetable Oil 0 fl oz
- Ground coriander ½ spoons
- Cardamom ½ spoons
- Paprika ½ spoons
- Turmeric ½ spoons
- Salt to taste
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Mix together paprika, turmeric, coriander, cardamom, pepper, and salt. Add a little vegetable oil and stir until a paste forms.
Step 2
Slice the turkey fillet into steaks about one centimeter thick.
Step 3
Brush the steaks with the spice mixture on all sides and let them sit for 10–15 minutes.
Step 4
Heat the oil in a skillet over high heat.
Step 5
Place the turkey steaks in the skillet and sear them until golden brown on both sides for 2–3 minutes.
Step 6
Reduce the heat, cover with a lid, and cook for another 7-8 minutes until the meat is done. To check for doneness, make a cut in the steak — clear juices should run out.
