Oven-Baked Tench with Onions
Ingredients
- River Fish 15 oz
- Onion 1 head
- Meyer Lemon Juice 2 tablespoons
- Salt to taste
- Allspice berries 4 pieces
- Lemon to taste
- Herbs to taste
- Fish Oil to taste
- Vegetable Oil 1 teaspoon
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Prepare the necessary ingredients.
Step 2
Gut the fish, remove the head and fins, wash thoroughly under running water, and dry with a paper towel.
Step 3
Peel the onion, wash well, slice half of the onion into half-rings, place in a baking dish, and salt to taste.
Step 4
Place the fish in the baking dish and salt to taste.
Step 5
Dice the remaining half of the onion into small cubes.
Step 6
Salt the onion to taste.
Step 7
Squeeze 2 tablespoons of lemon juice from the lemon, add the juice to the diced onion, and mix well.
Step 8
Place 3-4 allspice berries inside the fish, and add 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil.
Step 9
Fill the fish with the prepared onion and lemon juice, and rub the fish with seasoning to taste.
Step 10
Cover the dish with a lid or foil. Optionally, add a few lemon slices. Let marinate for 30 minutes at room temperature.
Step 11
Bake in a preheated oven at 355°F for about 30-40 minutes. Serve hot, warm, or cold. Optionally, add herbs to taste when serving.
