  • Spanish onions 10 oz
  • Anchovies 0 oz
  • Capers 0 oz
  • Puff Pastry 10 oz
  • Butter 0 oz
  • Egg white 1 piece
  • Olive Oil 5 fl oz
  • Red Grape Juice 5 fl oz

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, lay out the pastry, and let it rest in a warm place for 15 minutes; peel and slice the onion into thin rings, chop the anchovies finely.

Step 2

Heat 5 tablespoons of olive oil in a skillet, sauté the onion over medium heat for 8 minutes until golden.

Step 3

Pour in 200 ml of red dry wine and let it simmer for 15 minutes over low heat.

Step 4

Add the capers, anchovies, and butter, mix, heat for 1 minute, and remove from heat.

Step 5

Shape the pastry into a rectangle with your hands, slightly fold the edges, and prick the entire surface of the pastry with a fork.

Step 6

Spread the onion mixture over the pastry and bake in a preheated oven at 355°F for 20 minutes; 7 minutes before it's done, brush the edges of the pie with a lightly beaten egg.

Step 7

Allow the pie to cool and serve.
