Okra sautéed with shallots, chili, and ginger
Ingredients
- Vegetable Oil 5 fl oz
- Shallots 2 heads
- Garlic 4 cloves
- Serrano Chili 1 piece
- Grated Ginger 0 fl oz
- Salt to taste
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
- Fresh Lime Juice 0 fl oz
- Lime 1 piece
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Heat 60 ml of oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sauté 1 shallot, 2 cloves of garlic, 1/2 of the chili, and 1 tablespoon of ginger, stirring for 30 seconds.
Step 2
Add half of the okra and sauté, stirring occasionally, for 4 minutes until tender and golden brown; season with salt and pepper and transfer to a plate.
Step 3
Repeat the same steps with the remaining oil, shallots, garlic, chili, ginger, and okra; when the second batch of vegetables is ready, combine it with the first.
Step 4
Add lime juice and mix. Serve with lime wedges.
