Oatmeal with Baked Apples and Nuts
Ingredients
- Milk 10 fl oz
- Water 10 fl oz
- Pickled Apples 4 pieces
- Coconut Milk 1 tablespoon
- Cinnamon to taste
- Vanillin to taste
- Walnuts 0 oz
- Sugar to taste
- Oat flakes 5 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Peel the apples and cut them into cubes.
Step 2
In a saucepan or skillet, melt the coconut oil (can be replaced with butter).
Step 3
Add the chopped apples to the saucepan and simmer, stirring, over low heat.
Step 4
Add cinnamon to the apples and mix.
Step 5
Add vanillin to taste for aroma.
Step 6
Add sugar (the amount can be adjusted to taste). Stir and simmer for another 2–3 minutes until the apples become soft and golden.
Step 7
In a pot, combine water and milk in a 1:1 ratio.
Step 8
Add the long-cooking oat flakes to the boiling liquid and cook for 10–15 minutes until ready.
Step 9
Remove the cooked oatmeal from heat.
Step 10
Serve the oatmeal in a bowl, adding the baked apples on top.
Step 11
Sprinkle with grated walnuts.
