Mussels in Tomato-Cream Sauce with Cheese and Pasta
Ingredients
- Mussels 20 oz
- Sugar 1 tablespoon
- Cream 5 fl oz
- Cheese Spread 5 oz
- Onion 1 head
- Butter 0 oz
- Passata Tomato Sauce 1 tablespoon
- Salt a pinch
- Spices to taste
- Pasta (corkscrew) 20 oz
- Herbs 1 stem
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Wash the mussels and dry them, leaving them to drain.
Step 2
Melt the butter.
Step 3
Add the tomato paste.
Step 4
Mix the butter and paste until smooth.
Step 5
Add sugar, salt, and spices.
Step 6
Add the cream.
Step 7
Wash, peel, and finely chop the onion.
Step 8
Combine the onion with the tomato-cream sauce.
Step 9
Place the mussels at the bottom of a baking dish. Top with a layer of onion and sauce. Place in a preheated oven at 390°F for 30 minutes.
Step 10
Finely chop the cheese.
Step 11
Remove the mussels from the oven and sprinkle with cheese. Return to the oven for another 10 minutes.
Step 12
Cook the pasta until done. Drain.
Step 13
Remove the mussels from the oven and let cool. Serve with pasta, garnished with a sprig of herbs.
