Mushroom Sauce with Port Wine
Ingredients
- Champignon Mushrooms 0 lbs
- Onion 3 pieces
- Cream 20 oz
- Port Wine 5 fl oz
- Sea Salt to taste
- Ground Dried Garlic a pinch
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Finely chop (or grate on a coarse grater) the onion and sauté until translucent.
Step 2
Remove the onion and in the same skillet, sauté the mushrooms until they release their juice.
Step 3
Combine everything in one skillet. Pour in the cream gradually, allowing it to thicken.
Step 4
At the very end, add salt and pour in the port wine.
Step 5
Sea salt enhances the flavor of the creamy sauce better than regular salt. Dried garlic is milder in this sauce than fresh garlic.
Step 6
Serve with pasta, rice, or potatoes (both fried and mashed).
