Description

Mexican Bean and Ground Beef Dish

Ingredients

  • Onion 1 piece
  • Lean Beef 10 oz
  • Canned Baby Beets 1 can
  • Chinese green beans 5 oz
  • Frozen green bean pods 5 oz
  • Passata Tomato Sauce 3 tablespoons
  • Adjika to taste
  • Cheese Spread 5 oz
  • Butter 0 oz
  • Canned Corn to taste

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

In a deep skillet, sauté the onion in butter or vegetable oil until translucent.

Step 2

Add the ground beef to the onion and cook until done, breaking up clumps with a spatula (if the beef was frozen, thaw it first).

Step 3

Stir in the tomato paste and adjika, mixing well (especially if you are using a very spicy adjika). I don't add salt, as the tomato paste is usually salty, and I skip pepper because I use a lot of spicy adjika.

Step 4

Add the canned red beans to the cooked beef (I prefer them without tomato), draining the liquid from the can first. If you have a little more beef than needed, you can add a small can or half a regular can of white beans without tomato. If you like corn, you can add a small can. I don't like corn, so I leave it out. Mix well.

Step 5

Next, add the frozen green beans and peas (if you don't have peas, it's okay, but it looks nicer with them). Mix, cover with a lid, and cook for about 5–7 minutes until the peas are done.

Step 6

When serving, sprinkle with grated cheese. The more cheese you use and the better it melts (especially if you added too much adjika), the tastier it will be.
