Mediterranean Mussels with Tarragon and Basil

Ingredients

  • Tarragon 6 stems
  • Pasta shells 0 lbs
  • Onion 1 head
  • Garlic 3 cloves
  • Dry White Wine 1 cup
  • Mild Chili Spice 1 piece
  • Basil 1 bunch
  • Olive Oil 0 fl oz
  • Thyme 6 stems

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Remove the seeds from the chili pepper and chop it coarsely. Remove the leaves from the thyme stems.

Step 2

Remove the leaves from the tarragon and basil stems. Finely chop them and set aside.

Step 3

Finely chop the basil stems.

Step 4

Clean the mussels from the edge membrane. If using vacuum-packed mussels, cleaning is not necessary.

Step 5

In a wok, heat the olive oil and sauté the finely chopped onion and garlic for 2–3 minutes.

Step 6

Add the thyme leaves, chili, and chopped basil stems and sauté for another minute.

Step 7

Add the mussels and pour in the wine, adding warm water to cover all the mussels.

Step 8

Cook on high heat for 3 minutes after boiling. It is important not to overcook, as the mussels will become rubbery.

Step 9

Remove from heat and add the finely chopped basil and tarragon.

Step 10

Stir and plate the dish.

Step 11

Pour the broth on top and serve with fresh baguette.
