Description
Meatloaf in Puff Pastry
Ingredients
- Turkey 25 oz
- Carrot 1 piece
- Onion 1 piece
- Celery salt 2 stalks
- Potato 1 piece
- Courgette 1 piece
- Garlic 0 oz
- Chicken Egg 2 pieces
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
- Unleavened dough 10 oz
- Salt to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 355°F. Peel all the vegetables and cut them into evenly sized small cubes. Mince the garlic. Pour 2 tablespoons of olive oil into a large skillet, place it over medium heat, add all the vegetables except the zucchini, and sauté for about 5 minutes. Add the zucchini and garlic, and cook for another couple of minutes. Season with salt and pepper and let cool.
Step 2
Beat the eggs with a fork, season the ground turkey with salt and pepper, add 1 egg to the turkey, the cooled vegetables, and mix well.
Step 3
Roll out the puff pastry into a rectangular sheet about 3–5 mm thick. Along the long edge, place the filling on the pastry, shaping it into a long, even sausage. Brush the edges of the pastry with the beaten egg. Roll up the loaf, pinch the edges well, and tuck them underneath. Place the loaf seam-side down on a greased baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, then brush the loaf with the beaten egg and return to the oven for another 15 minutes.
